Show off Shoes

These shoes are all from the fabulous duo Mark Badgley and James Mischka. They collaborated in 1988 and began creating sophisticated couture styles for women, with their shoe line launching in the spring of 2000. You will find BadgleyMischka on one of my favorite sites for wedding shoes myglassslipper.com. I usually can find the exact shoe a client is looking for in just minutes and they offer a variety of heights and styles. When the night lingers, I am a referral rep for a great flip flop company that has beautiful leather imprinted soles and I have ordered them for client's bridesmaids before. Check out Sandals 4 Events.

I also like to add galvanized buckets or baskets filled with flip flops at the edges of the client's dance floors (especially outdoor receptions). When budgets are tight, you can find colored flip flops that match the design of your wedding at The Dollar Store or Michael's. Obviously, summer is the best buying time for such things, but you will find they are still available in early fall with limited quantities. I also recommend only 25-30 pair for a reception of 100 guests. The dancing continues through out the night with out bare or soar feet!

Clutches

I am a fan of a clutch that can give you a little spark of color on your wedding day and carry into your everyday life once your fairytale wedding has read "the end". One of my favorite clutches is this beautiful Peacock Clutch It is made of silk brocade. Metallic Peacock feathers wisp across this luxurious silk brocade on a teal background. The metallic nature of the plumage is interesting in that it appears to be both silver and gold, depending on the light.

I tend to love nature as a part of design. Whether it is home design, event design, or fashion, you will find that I usually have an element of nature with in my creations. If you know me well, then you know I love birds! Bird on a branch embroidery to this pretty celedon green dupioni silk clutch. The embroidery is done in chocolate brown and makes this purse perfect for a nature loving bride who needs a little "chirp" in her step! It is also perfect for a Bridesmaids gift.
There is a local shop that has many beautiful, unique clutches to choose from. Ooh La La Boutique is a gem of a shop that carries a large selection of women's jewelry and accessories. Owner Liorah Johnson has stocked the shop with sparkly belt buckles, colorful evening clutches, jeweled hair barrettes and jewelry from local designers to fit every taste.

Hot pink and Black reception

I am excited to share with you a new event space that has selected Premier W.E.D. as their preferred event planner. Lenox Village Development in South Nashville has just finished a beautiful ballroom on their 6th floor for the residents to enjoy at a significantly reduced rate but outside renters are also welcome and the rental rate is still one of the most competetive in the event market.

I have just finished working in the space this week and have 3 different settings to show you. I designed 3 different events to showcase the space at is greatest potential with the help of some of the top vendors in the city.

Wedding Planning vs. Wedding Directing

It can be overwhelming to start the wedding process and even more overwhelming to meet all the many vendors that could be involved. So many people (even wedding industry people) have no clue what the difference is between a wedding planner, a wedding designer, a wedding director, etc.

Here is a simple explanation of the difference between the different roles:

Wedding Director: Usually comes in towards the final part of the planning process to insure that your "day of" is organized and flows easily. A director is in charge of making sure the set up schedules for ceremony and reception are followed. This is with out a doubt the BEST money you could spend on your wedding. So many times I have heard the words..."I should have hired you!" As much as I love to hear those words, it doesn't serve me or the Bride for them to realize that after the wedding. Hire a director so you can attend your own wedding!

Wedding Planner: This is someone who is organized, creative and budget minded. They help you in the months of your engagement with everything you could imagine. A huge part of the reason a Bride should hire a planner is their connection with fabulous vendors and their ability to get discounts in the industry. A great wedding planner knows how to assist you without smothering you.

Wedding Designer: This is a fairly new field that is usually separate from planning/directing. Most have floral design backgrounds or interior design backgrounds and help you with the decor of your wedding. Managing budgets, vendors, or schedules is also done by a Wedding Designer, but with a wider scope of bringing all the creative energy and ideas to play in the process.

Premier W.E.D. offers all three services! We try to caterer to as much or as little as you might need. I believe that it is imperative that the Bride still have control of her day but have that helping hand any time she needs it. It is our pleasure and honor to serve our Brides!

Flawless Skin For Your Wedding Day!

Sure we all want to lose that last ten pounds we said we'd lose six months ago when it comes time for a big event. Weddings, monumental birthdays, class reunions, are all "crunch time" events. Spending more time trying to lose that last minute weight isn't where we should be spending our time. Having skin that glows and is in great shape is more achieveable and makes a more noticeable difference. Especially when you are limited in time.

There are great products out there that will help you look like a million dollars and you don't have to break your bank. You've seen all the magazines to know they are out there. Why not actually try them? I suggest this...go see a professional first. See a licensed aesthetician and/or a dermatologist for a consult about your skin and it's current condition. Then you can get their advice for an over-the-counter regimen.

I have worked with an outstanding aesthetician in the skin industry. Karee Hayes with Retief Skin Center has a special interest in sitting down with a client and taking a thorough inventory of skin type and lifestyle. She then uses that information to plan out the very best skincare options for each client. Karee knows that every skin type is different, and every life is different, and she works diligently with her clients to come up with a streamlined skincare routine that works.

Karee is a wife and mother of three active children, so she knows how to keep a skincare routine quick and easy to maintain without sacrificing effectiveness. Once a personal skincare regimen is selected, Karee is trained in all the latest medical and skin care treatments to achieve the fresh, dewy, fabulous skin that we all want. She has studied product lines and ingredients for years; she knows what is truly effective, and what’s just a waste of your money. Legendary for her “insider tips” Karee will help educate you on how to make the skincare industry work for you! Beautiful skin is within your reach!

Finding The One

I was at the beach (the one where my husband proposed to me) on vacation recently and realized that finding your soul mate is a lot like looking for that one-of-a-kind seashell. I spend forever combing the waters edge for that really "cool" shell. The one that has no holes, is shiny, not too white, not too gray, a little color, and BIG. Yet, with all my effort and patience, I still end up picking up the shells that have a hole in them or a sand dollar that is broken in half. I am so excited when I find them and work so hard to not get knocked down by the waves while I am reaching for them that I don't even realize that it wasn't up to the "standard" I'd set when I got up off my beach chair. I start the process with one idea of what I need to find and end up absolutely thrilled with what nature provides! I see that 1/2 sand dollar on my coffee table and I love it!

One thing is for certain: we all deserve a very special person to spend our life with and nature has a way of working that out too! Just like the ocean changes those shells over time our "idea" of a sole mate might do the same. I couldn't imagine my life with anyone but my husband and yet I put him through such scrutiny when we met. He makes me laugh every time he imitates the first time we spoke. Let's just say he was a shell that kept washing up at my feet and I just kept searching for the sand dollar. Glad I got knocked over by that wave!
